Who is eligible for the Rutgers IGERT-IEB program?
- The program is targeted at undergraduate seniors and first year graduate students whose baccalaureate degree is/will be in Life Sciences; Physics; Chemistry; Biomedical Engineering; Chemical Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Materials Engineering or related fields.
- Only U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents are eligible for NSF support; international students on F-1, J-1, H-1 visas are not eligible.
- The Rutgers IGERT-IEB program is particularly interested in recruiting and developing highly qualified minority students (US citizens/permanent residents) from underrepresented communities.
How do I apply?
- If you are interested in being considered for the IGERT fellowship, fill in a query here in 30 seconds, and you will be a candidate.
- The complete application form can be downloaded as a Word file, filled in electronically, and emailed to the IGERT Program Manager. Reference letters can be emailed separately.
- For students in institutions other than Rutgers applying to the IGERT, a full application to the Graduate School, New Brunswick, is also necessary, and can be downloaded here.

Congratulations to IGERT Trainee Kevin Nikitczuk, awarded 2-year pre-doctoral fellowship from New Jersey Commission on Cancer Research for his research "Immune Targeting using an Engineered Vaccine Delivery System", advised by Professors Martin Yarmush and Edmund Lattime.
